Where to shop

Everything on the shopping lists is easy to find in Perth.

Supermarket

Fresh full-cream milk, plain yoghurt with live cultures, cabbage, cucumbers, flour, lemons and white vinegar.

Asian grocer

Wombok, gochugaru, daikon, dried soybeans and nigari, usually cheaper than the supermarket.

Cheesemaking or brewing supplier

Rennet and citric acid for mozzarella. Online suppliers post them Australia-wide.

Perth seasons for ferments

Veg is available most of the year, but it's cheapest and crunchiest in season. Ferments also move faster in summer heat.
